The Dolphin Project actively protests and brings to public light the ongoing cruel slaughter of thousands of dolphins and whales in the small, but very obnoxious fishing village of Taiji. They known to use particularly cruel tmethods to kill the dolphins. The dolphin and Beluga whale hunt in Taiji can be seen in the award winning move "The Cove". The entire proceeds from sale of this kanzashi collection will be donated specifically to Ric O'Barry's Dolphin Project which is helping to end the practice before Japan's dolphins are entirely wiped out.
